Provide the following information for service to a new home

  • $50 membership deposit plus $30 service charge
  • Consumer deposit based on utility credit report (See the Service Rules and Regulations for detailed information)
  • Application for residential accounts
  • Social Security number
  • United States government issued photo identification

Moving into a home already built
Please be sure to have all of the information available when applying for service. 
 

Renting a house
In addition to the information above, please provide a rental receipt.
 

Temporary to Build
In addition to the information above, please also be prepared to provide:

  • Nearest neighbors name and address

  • What kind of service? 100 or 200 amp service

  • Heated square feet

  • E-911 Address

  • Right-of-Way easement signed by landowner(s) 
    Easement must be printed on legal sized paper and notarized

  • Refer to the Line Extension Policy for information on construction charges.

  • Dixie Electric does not supply temporary meter poles

  • Residents of Forrest, Jones and Covington counties need a Flood Plain Permit from their respective county

  • Before applying for service, contact the E-911 coordinator in your county to establish your 911 address

  • Mark water and sewer lines if down. Call Mississippi 811 for location of utilities

Mississippi One Call Law: All persons preparing to dig must call Mississippi 811 or utilize the online E-locate system two days prior to the beginning of any work. Underground facilities will be marked using the color code system and then work may proceed.

Dixie Electric Power Association is an electric cooperative and is governed by the following documents and statements that assure fair, equal and quality service to the Association’s members:

Right-of-Way Easements

In an effort to conform to the document formatting standards required by Mississippi state law, Dixie Electric’s management is requiring that all easements be printed on legal paper. No other size paper will be accepted.

  • Easement Form – Standard
  • Easement Form – Standard with a Witness (Statement for the notary)
  • Easement Form – Corporation_LLC
  • Easement Form – Representative (Representatives for a church, state, power of attorney, etc.)

Please print/duplicate easements on legal-size paper. Easements that do not meet formatting standards will be returned.

Distributed Generation (Solar, Wind, Thermal, etc.)

  • Distributed Generation Process Document (Application) – This document outlines the steps to go through for distributed generation and provides the application that needs to be submitted before the installation begins.
  • Interconnection Agreement – This agreement will be executed after the installation has been inspected.
