Provide the following information for service to a new home
- $50 membership deposit plus $30 service charge
- Consumer deposit based on utility credit report (See the Service Rules and Regulations for detailed information)
- Application for residential accounts
- Social Security number
- United States government issued photo identification
Moving into a home already built
Please be sure to have all of the information available when applying for service.
Renting a house
In addition to the information above, please provide a rental receipt.
Temporary to Build
In addition to the information above, please also be prepared to provide:
Nearest neighbors name and address
What kind of service? 100 or 200 amp service
Heated square feet
Right-of-Way easement signed by landowner(s)
Easement must be printed on legal sized paper and notarized

Dixie Electric does not supply temporary meter poles
Residents of Forrest, Jones and Covington counties need a Flood Plain Permit from their respective county
Before applying for service, contact the E-911 coordinator in your county to establish your 911 address
Mark water and sewer lines if down. Call Mississippi 811 for location of utilities
