Following MISO’s directive, Dixie Electric, along with Cooperative Energy, our wholesale power provider, is asking members to conserve their electric energy use until 10 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

• Lower your thermostat. 68 degrees is the recommended setting.
• Turn off unnecessary appliances and electronics in your home.
• Delay washing/drying clothes and using the dishwasher.

The extreme cold weather is again putting a strain on the regional electric grid. If we each do our part, we hopefully can avoid rolling outages like last night. Please remember that rolling outages are a directive from our regional reliability coordinator MISO and must be carried out if we are requested to do so.
