Fees & Charges
Dixie Electric Power Association keeps the cost for receiving power low for its members. The following list outlines the initial fees for connecting service, and fees that may be encountered after service is connected. Interest is not paid on any refundable fee. This list does not include all fees and charges required by DEPA, but will give an idea of financial commitment to the Association.
$50 Membership Fee - Each prospective consumer is required to become a member of the Association. The fee is refundable upon termination of service. Membership fees are not transferable.
$50 Additional Fee - A deposit must be filed with the Association for each additional meter. All meters require a deposit.
$50 Consumer Deposits - These deposits are required on renters and all moveable items, including mobile homes, motor homes, etc.
$15 Service Charge (plus applicable taxes) - Required when Dixie Electric Power Association personnel visit the location of an account to set a meter, collect an overdue bill or perform other tasks other than normal maintenance between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
$40 Service Charge (plus applicable taxes) - Required when an application for service is made after 4 p.m. and service is desired between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. or on weekends or holidays.
$30 Reconnection Fee - A reconnection fee is required when a member’s service is disconnected for non-payment, and a reconnection is made between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
$55 Reconnection Fee - This fee is charged when a reconnection is made after 4 p.m. and before 8 a.m. or on weekends or holidays.
$20 Return Check Fee - This fee is required for any check returned by the bank on which it is drawn.
$100 Meter Tampering Charge - This charge will be paid by any member whose meter indicates signs of tampering. This fee is in addition to estimated power use.
$15 Meter Test Fee (plus applicable taxes) - Consumers receiving service who request a test of their meter for accuracy. This fee is refunded if meter is reading high.
